Internet search engine (called search engine) is a program or website, which aims to help Internet users find information on the network.

The term 'Search Engine' we use to:

  • web sites, searching - that is, retrieving the implementation of the software that operates with an open web interface for Internet users
  • software for indexing and retrieval of information in networks: the Internet, an intranet.

  • In general search engine software to automatically collect the information about text documents and files stored on the network (the area designated for search engines to index).

    Software is a collection of search engines, modules, each of whom has a separate task. The set includes such items as:
  • Crawler, Spider, Bot - modules receiving documents from the web
  • Indexer, assessment and evaluation programme
  • Searcher - retrieving the search interface / subsystem respond to queries / analyzer queries + module presentation of results
